Safety and Risk Management

One of the least promoted yet extremely valuable services to the client business is the risk management provided by HRAH in the areas of workers' compensation insurance and unemployment. HRAH aggressively manages claims in both areas.

HRAH will create a customized safety manual for all employees. Our Director of Safety and Risk Management will conduct safety meetings, visit job sites and/or work premises to conduct safety walk- thru, compile MSDS sheets as required, and complete OSHA logs.

  • Bloodborne Pathogen Control Program
  • Alcohol & Drug Abuse
  • Personal Protective Equipment

Health Benefits Management

Shopping for health insurance is a time-consuming and frustrating task. HRAH spends a great deal of resources in finding cost-effective, comprehensive medical and dental plans. The plans offered are typically PPO (Preferred Provider Organization), HMO (Health Maintenance Organization) or POS (Point-of-Service).

By pooling its employees in one group, HRAH is able to spread its medical claims over a larger premium base, resulting in much lower premium costs for its clients.

Clients and employees have a choice of Kaiser, UHA, HMAA, or HMSA.

Health insurance is only one of many benefits HRAH offers. Many other optional benefits are available to its clients. HRAH will ensure that the employee benefits important to the company are included in quotes. Other optional supplemental benefits available include:

  • Temporary Disability Insurance
  • Dental Plan
  • Drug Plan
  • Vision Plan
  • 401(k)
  • Employee Assistance Programs

Retirement Services

HRAH can assist in setting up an optional 401(k) profit sharing plan for a fee plus applicable setup and annual charges by various vendors (T. Rowe Price, Fidelity, Vanguard, Charles Schwab, etc.).

Workers Compensation

An extremely valuable service to the client business is the risk management provided by HRAH in the areas of workers compensation insurance and unemployment. HRAH aggressively manages claims in both areas.

Workers compensation and unemployment claims is charged against HRAH's experience and could result in increased costs for its clients. Working to hold down costs together as a common goal is one of the greatest benefits of the Client's relationship with HRAH. For example, a construction company with 10 employees incurs a $200,000 workers compensation claim. The owner does not have the resources to manage this claim and it goes against the company's experience rating. This claim significantly raises the workers compensation rates to a point that could literally drive this company out of business.

HRAH will manage this claim to find a quick resolution, including a return to work policy, resulting in a much lower claim cost.

HRAH has a broader base of employees that will also dilute the impact of this claim, therefore lowering the claims cost to the business.

Payroll Services

Payroll administration is a basic function of HRAH and the one most commonly associated with a professional employer organization. This function includes:

  • Support for hourly, salary, commissioned, tipped and piece-work payment based employees
  • A variety of payment methods, including payroll checks, direct deposits

In today's complex business environment, keeping up with the pitfalls of employee related laws and regulations require a dedicated HR department.

Most small businesses do not have the manpower or resources to have an HR staff and can find themselves involved in an expensive lawsuit that could have been avoided if proper procedures were followed.

HRAH acts as your off-site HR department, offering consultation in the areas of sexual harassment, discrimination, FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act), hiring and firing practices, unemployment claims, documentation for termination, garnishments and many other areas.
